Notes

The 43% of temp workers who obtained permanent jobs at another firm (not the client firm using a temp agency's services) often found permanent jobs themselves, without the assistance of a temp staffing agency.
Temp-to-hire is a service provided by temp agencies to client firms.  Temp agencies provide temp workers to a client firm, allowing the client firm to "test" the temp worker and later decide whether or not to hire the worker.  Sometimes, a temp agency bills additional fees to client firms during the temp-to-hire process.  Temp-to-hire is also known as "Temp-to-Perm."
Permatemps are temporary workers working on temp assignments for one year or longer.  There usually is no promise of conversion to regular, permanent employee status with benefits.
