    A unique employment service designed to empower individuals to use the "temp model" to manage their own careers.  As a self-directed temporary help agency service, the job seeker negotiates wages, hours, and length of assignments.   FutureWorks serves as employer of record, maintains administrative records, and files taxes.  Qualified career counselors conduct individual and group job search training sessions and encourage temps to seek full time, benefited employment.   FutureWorks never charges their temp pool of workers any fees.

    The job seeker becomes a FutureWorks associate, receiving a portable fringe benefits package including:  vacation pay, holiday pay, and 401(k) plan employer matching.  Group health, dental, term life insurance and/or a 401(k) plan are available for purchase with pre-tax dollars.

   In existence for 12 years, Omne has eight offices throughout New Jersey.  Omne's top recruitment needs include the following:   light industrial/warehouse ($6-$8/hour); general clerical; and administrative assistants.  Offices average four counselors and 40 people out on assignments daily with 60% surpassing 90 days duration.  20% of long term assignments eventually become permanent positions, according to Colin Dowd, Regional Vice President.  Major medical/dental/vision plans available [$35/week individual; $70/week couple; $102/week family] with Omne absorbing an increasing amount of premiums as temp workers accrue seniority.

   Operating for 13 years, its four recruiter/counselors are scientists by training.  Science Registry works exclusively with nurses and pharmacists for booming clinical research work.  A third of assignments go past 90 days and another 1/3 convert to permanent jobs in the pharmaceutical, bio-tech, cosmetics, food technologies, and petrochemical industries.  Temp positions available include:   lab technicians ($16-$22/hour); chemists ($22-$28/hour); biologists ($19-$28/hour); and clinical/regulatory specialists ($21-$104/hour).  Insurance is available after 30 days, with the Science Registry paying half the premium ($0.25/hour worker premium for all size households).  Prime contact at the Science Registry is Joe Murphy.
